Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had a great holiday and I hope everyone got to spend time with their families in whatever festivities you part take in.

We celebrate Christmas in my household and I was so happy to be able to get my very first Christmas tree with the boyfriend! It was very exciting.

Not to mention, I made us our own stockings!

The boyfriends is The Hobbit one, Gandalf is making it snow in all universes. Mine is the Star Wars one, a wampa is helping Luke put on the star on the tree :).

I hope everyone has a great New Year!

A little late but... Lydia Deetz costume!

So, I know Halloween didn't pass just yesterday, it passed like... almost a month ago... Haha.
Buuuut, I really loved my costume! I was Lydia Deetz from the Beetlejuice cartoon! I LOVE the cartoon so much so I decided to be Lydia in her iconic red spiderweb poncho!

This was me when I first started my costume. I had my red fabric laid out and my dog would not stop laying on it! Haha, I chose a red and purple fabric that was not shiny. I didn't feel like it would look that great shiny and it would take away from the spiderweb so i went with a not-shiny fabric :)
(Don't ask me the name... I have no idea!).

For both the red and purple I cut out two pieces. One small and one longer one (the arrow shows where the front piece ends and where the back piece is longer).
Aaaand, apparently I do not know how to spell piece as I keep getting that red squiggly line underneath it...

Here's a look at my completed costume! You can see the light purple fabric I used for the underneath layer. I used heat-n-bond to stick the black fabric to my spider web on. I already forgot what the fabric I used for the spiderweb part was called, but the size that it's on my poncho is the actual width in which I bought the ribbon :)
If any of you are wondering... the boyfriend is a character from a show called Trailer Park Boys.

This picture shows a better view of how the length on the back was. I'm just wearing a long sleeve black shirt, black tights, and black flats. I glued two long strips of red and purple fabric together for my hair tie. I put half of my hair up in a pony tail and put on about three hair ties one on top of each other to have my hair stick up like a pineapple and wrapped the fabric around it and held it in place with a bobby pin. I parted my bangs into three sections and hair sprayed the heck out of them!

This is a closer look at the makeup my friend did for me. I love it! My favorite is the eye shadow! She was able to get my face pretty ghost white so that was a plus :)
If you look at my ear you can sort of tell the difference, haha!

I hope you all had a great Halloween! Holidays are comping up for us so it's been very busy!
Also, in other news... I moved to my own apartment! The boyfriend and I got our own place so that means one thing... decorating and crafting more! Hooray!

It's October!

October is here! Which means one thing: Halloween!
I always know what I want to be almost a year in advance. This year I want to be Lydia Deetz from the Beetlejuice cartoon.

I want to do the outfit all the way to the right, the red spiderweb poncho. Of course I haven't gone material shopping. I am thinking of getting a material that isn't super shiny. I haven't figured it out yet. I am also thinking of doing the actual spider web lines in some sort of ribbon. We shall see where this takes me. I'm excited for my costume just to be pretty simple. Although, the poncho made be somewhat difficult to do.

I was also thinking of putting wire on the ends to make it flare the way it does at the tip. Once I get the poncho done, the rest is simple.

What do you think? What are you going to be for Halloween?!

SDCC 2014: Cosplay

My computer is still in commission. I have not been able to get my pictures off of it but hopefully that will change soon. We are not quite done moving intlo our new house but most of my stuff has been put in place and hopefully I can get crafting again. Halloween is right around the corner so I am looking forward to that.

I have a couple of pictures from Comic con.  I was only able to get a pass for one day so that was pretty depressing. I only have a few pictures so bare with me.

Here's a cosplay I never see. Bishop from X-men.

The famous Cyclops. Awesome posing.

I saw a lot of LOTR and Hobbit cosplay but this is the only Thranduil I saw. The crown is awesome.

I wore my Baseball Fury costume. I took off the collars because I didn;t like the way they looked and you couldn't see them anyway. I also wore my hair different and I like it a lot better than having in pigtails. It looks more like a hairdo from A League Of Their Own which is what I was going for.

Lego had a little wall that people could be creative with. It was pretty cool :)

That's all the pictures I had. Until next time!

Crashing computers suck!

My computer took a downfall! It went crazy and decided to act like a brat.
It is safely at a friend's house trying to get repaired
I had some projects to share with you all and now i'm stressing over if I'm going to lose all my undeveloped photos or not!
If my computer gets saved, I will be back with some projects I have been pursuing.
If not, well, I will have some boring posts with only final product pictures.

In other news:
We're moving! Which may slow down my blog even more (Well, more than it already is).
Comic-con is this weekend! Sadly, I only got a Sunday badge :(. I will try my best to make a good cosplay post out of it! I'm so excited!

Cross your fingers for my poor little old computer!

TIP: Get your digital photos developed about once every three months or so :)

Mickey Mouse birthday party

The boyfriend's nephew had his 1st birthday party this past weekend. I stole the picture above from his sister, haha. The whole party was Mickey Mouse'd out. The cupcake stand was really cool.
The frame that people are taking pictures with is the frame I made!

This is the boyfriend and baby Isaiah. I made the frame a little different than the picture shown in the previous post.
Instead of putting construction paper, I spray painted it so that there would be no tearing from people holding it all day. I also added the shoes. I like the way it looks. Everyone loved it.
What do you guys think?

Getting back to the drawing board...

Besides the valentines cards and birthday cards that I do, I haven't been drawing in a very long time.
I have a little journal where I doodle sometimes so I decided to get down to it and start again. I was looking through my folder and saw the Rapunzel seen in the above picture. It's a drawing I did almost two years ago. I wanted to finish the project so I started drawing Tianna in the same fashion as Rapunzel.
I'm finished with her and am going to probably do Belle next. I haven't decided whether I'm going to color them or not. I'm not very good at coloring so I won't make the decision until last minute.

My boyfriend's nephew's birthday party got postponed so I haven't done the Mickey Mouse frame. I'm excited to get it started next week!

What has everyone else been up to?
